and i'm spent

the official conclusion of marching band was tuesday night at the district band showcase. this is an annual event where all four bands freeze our asses of and perform for each other. it is great for public relations but it kind of takes the dramatic finish away from the season after championships. we finished fifth out of the twenty in our class this year which is a good place for us to be.

another personal accomplishment was finishing norman mailer's the naked and the dead t0night. it was a great read and i enjoyed it very much. however i found frustration in my lack of commitment as i was not able to devote very many long term reading sessions to the book and have been chipping away at it since august. i will have to check out some more of mailer's work.

now it's time to get the new place organized for good. matt is in austria for two weeks so this is good timing to get some work done. brewing batch of christmas ale is also in the near future.
