sometimes i amaze myself

today we got our midterm exams back. on top of mine was an A-!!! perhaps 3+ years of teaching in the real world has enhanced my analytical and problem solving skills. or perhaps common sense and logic really are worthwhile virtues.

Just finished watching Roger and Me. Wow, 1988 doesn’t seem like that long ago.

i still exist

i have been delinquent in my blogging duties lately, but things have been crazy.

our school levy failed again and what i really need are more people to ask me questions about it. here is the skinny; if it fails again in may there will be no sports, marching band or extra-curricular activities in our district next year. with 21,000 students in our district, that leaves a lot of free time for a lot of young people. i am not sure if my job is in jeopardy yet.

my personal purgatory (some call it music 770 at osu) has been a real thorn. today we had one of our major projects due and a mid-term. how many more grey hairs does she want me to find?

the good news is that the pale ale is superb. i used a recipe for sierra nevada but that mass produced brew "pales" in comparison to my solemnly swearing pale ale.

valentine's day was the usual bust for me but my friend eric had quite an adventure. ladies, when you're having your "i'm 30 years old and not married" depression, don't go crying to this man. (actually he is a great person when you are seeking advice and guidance BUT GIVE THE MAN A BREAK!)

peace for now. keep on rockin' in the free world.

super cornhole

on the eve of the "worlds greatest sporting event" i have been introduced to another fascinating outdoor activity. yes i gave my friends a funny look when they asked me if i played cornhole but i soon understood their reason for excitement. i'm not sure if it was my wining team or socializing outside for the first time in months, but cornhole is a fine way to spend a sunny afternoon.

as for the big game, i'm still not sure how to feel about the fact that my team beat both the pats and the eagles. oh well try again next year.

for you singer-songwriter types i was also turned on to scott miller this weekend. it's some refreshing stuff.

i hate paying rent

forking over the rent to feder road associates is definitely a loathsome task. sure i've lived in worse but here they seem to have a shit-eating grin when you hand over the check. it is probably the same expression they would display if i should them the bulging wombs of plastic that is covering my windows. at times it can be entertaining to poke at the bubbles but usually it is just sad to realize just how much air is flowing through your window.

However it is a short week for me. Thursday morning i am headed to the Ohio Music Education Association Professional Conference in Cincinnati. Usually a good time except when it is held in cleveland every third year.
