this is the final stretch between spring break and the end of the year. things seem to already be in shut down mode, especially in the academic arena. junior high contest is friday morning in midway and drum line championships are friday night in arlington. going out west was enjoyable. most folks around here thought we were nuts for driving out there but they are lacking in sense of adventure.

spring break

i can't believe it but spring break is already here. however it has been a whirlwind week up to this point. last week both of our concert bands recieved first division ratings in concert and sight reading at our UIL contest. this combined with a division one rating at region marching band earns us what is called a sweepstakes, a mark of excellence here. we had a drumline contest on saturday but most of the minds were already on break so there were some auspicious moments in the performance.

for break jason and i are traveling west. first we will spend a day in the guadalupe mountains and a few days in el paso.
